Hey y'all!
July, along with June, is when we get to host our summer Thursday Night Fellowship events! Just like during the school year, we still meet every Thursday throughout the summer so students have a consistent place to come together, spend time in community, worship, and continue growing in their faith.
One of the sweetest parts about summer TNF is that it isn’t just for the Denton campuses. Students from all of our FOCUS campuses across DFW are invited, which makes it feel a little different from our normal gatherings during the school year. It gives students the chance to meet and build friendships with people from other campuses that they normally wouldn’t get to see very often.
It’s also really fun for us as staff because we get to spend more time with staff from other campuses across the Metroplex. During the school year, everyone is usually so focused on what’s happening on their own campus, so the summer gives us more opportunities to collaborate, share ideas, and just enjoy being together.
July is also when things really start ramping back up as we prepare for the fall semester. Even though students may still be enjoying summer break, behind the scenes there is a lot of planning happening! We start thinking through welcome week, outreach events, schedules, student leaders, and all of the little details that need to come together before students arrive back on campus.
There are so many moving pieces, and it can be easy for things to fall through the cracks if we aren’t prepared. That’s why all of the planning we do in July is so important. We want to do everything we can ahead of time so that when welcome week finally arrives, we’re ready to meet new students, build relationships, and start the school year as smoothly as possible.
It’s definitely a busy month, but all the preparation makes me really excited for another school year and another opportunity to see what God is going to do on our campuses!
Prayer Requests for July:
- For Summer TNF to end well
- To finish planning for the next school year well
