Hey y'all!
The fish picture this month is actually of my sweet nephew Blake! I got the chance to travel home to Austin and spend some time with family, which was such a nice break in the middle of a busy month.
Back in Denton, we also got to meet in the Lyceum this month! It’s a much bigger room than the space we normally use, and we chose it because we were hosting our annual Family Night. Family Night is when we invite the parents, siblings, and other family members of students who have been involved in FOCUS throughout the year.
It’s always such a special night because it gives families the chance to finally put faces to the names they’ve heard their students talk about all year. They get to meet staff, student leaders, and friends, and get a better picture of what their student has been part of on campus.
At the same time, it’s really meaningful for us too. We get to meet the people who have helped shape these students long before we ever knew them and get a little glimpse into their lives outside of FOCUS. It’s always so much fun meeting everyone, and we love getting to welcome new people into TNF and show them what our community is all about.
To finish out April, I also got to wrap up our Bible study with my favorite baby boy, Asher. It was really sweet getting to look back on everything we had talked through together over the semester and see the growth that happened along the way.
We also got to celebrate a few baptisms, which is always one of the sweetest things to witness. Getting to see students publicly choose to follow Jesus and celebrate that decision with the rest of the community is something that never gets old. It was a really meaningful way to close out the month.
Prayer Requests for April:
- That students discover and get plugged into mi gente
